Dr Smadar Kahana-Edwin is a molecular biologist and a cancer researcher, with specific training and expertise in translational cancer research. She obtained her PhD from the Technion (Israel) in 2011 and was recruited in 2017 to work with pediatric surgeon Dr Jonathan Karpelowsky to establish the Advanced Molecular Diagnostics Research Laboratory at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, and is currently the Scientific Team Lead of the lab.
She has special interest in developing minimally invasive approaches for cancer detection to improve cancer diagnostics and care and is committed to improving health through research.
